Hi, I’m Lauren!

I’m Lauren Shields - a yogic and Ayurvedic full spectrum doula and mother of three.

I’ve supported over one hundred families as a birth and postpartum doula, and taught thousands of hours of prenatal and postpartum yoga since 2016.

I created Intentionally Embodied Birth because I’ve lived the experience of feeling disconnected to my body and my knowing during the pregnancy and postpartum transition. I’ve also learned how different it can feel when you’re grounded, supported, and present with yourself on your journey.

My care is based in yoga, Ayurvedic, and ancestral traditions and infused with my own personal touch. Your care is intentional, personalized, and designed to support you and your growing family every step of the way.

My birth philosophy:

Birth is sacred, it is a rite of passage for both parents and the baby(ies). Birth is the ceremony, postpartum the integration. The goal is not to merely survive the birth experience, but to witness deeply, who we are, and what we are capable of as women, as humans. I approach birth utilizing mindfulness and movement as tools to prepare, process and heal though this journey. We must not only connect deeply to the body but truly embody the wisdom of the divine feminine surrendering, flowing, and maturing into the wise mother.

A Mindful Birth
$19.99

This birth planning book is designed for every mother, birther, or birth worker who wants to enhance the pregnancy and birth experience through knowledge and nourishing practices. Birth is not a master test that you need to learn every bit of information and remember perfectly in order to have a beautiful experience. It is an initiation into learning yourself more deeply: your energy, your body, your boundaries, your dreams, and practicing living in that truth and wisdom. My intention is to give you framework to guide you through the process of preparing for your birth as a sacred rite of passage for you, your partner, and your baby.

Postpartum Planning Kit
$19.99

Although postpartum is forever, this planning kit has been designed with love to help you prepare your home, your family, and expectations for the first 40 days post birth. Inside, you'll find printable worksheets for resources and organization of your life and home. I recommend that you begin preparing while you are still pregnant, as you'll have so much other work to do healing and bonding once baby arrives. It’s a great idea to sit down with your support system to review expectations so everyone is ready for action without you having to do the mental work of delegating tasks.

This kit is solely focused on care of the birthing person and does not cover newborn/infant care. This is intentional as one may find many resources on caring for baby, but very few as it pertains to healing + support for the birthing person.

PDF Digital Download available up to 24 hours after purchase.

including printable worksheets and affirmation cards
